5 Kitchen Beauty Hacks

 Hey everyone,
I am back with another hack blog (that sounds like a disease ). Today is my birthday and with another year under my belt I'm reminded that I am not getting any younger. Thanks to my best friend Candice, who likes to text me and tell me I'm an old lady and how she will always be younger than meπŸ‘΅πŸ‘΅, this made me think of all the DIY beauty hacks out there to keep me looking young. I especially love the kind that are easy and I probably already have the stuff for in my kitchen. Here is a list of easy kitchen beauty hacks to try.

 #1 Honey face scrub
Honey makes a awesome face scrub because of its antimicrobial properties. Just use honey, brown sugar and lemon juice to make a thick mixture to rub over your face in a circular motion. The honey and lemon will help with acne while the coarse brown sugar exfoliates your skin.

 #2 Remove eye bags
Did you know that a cold spoon can help to reduce puffiness around the eyes.  Up late partying and need to get to work soon? Just take 2 spoons and place them in your freezer for 15 min. Just enough time to get dressed then take the spoons out of the freezer and place against your eyes. Leave spoons in place until they are warm again.

#3 Mayonnaise hair mask
Mayo can be a good way to get softer, shinier hair. It has vitamins and fatty acids that can lock in moisture and make your hair shine. Plus your husband and kids will get a kick out of smearing mayo on your head (win/win). Just apply to clean damp hair, focus on the ends but avoid the roots. I cover my hair with a disposable plastic bag to keep from getting mayo everywhere and let it sit for 15-30 minutes. Then just wash out with shampoo.

#4 Baking soda teeth whitener
I know what it looks like! get your brain out of the gutter(damn druggies).
Yes you can whiten your own teeth from home and much cheaper. Just mix 1 tablespoon baking soda with 2 tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide into a paste and brush it on your teeth. Let the paste sit for a minute then rinse off well. Use 2 or 3 times a week as needed to brighten your smile. Just be careful not to over do it or it can actually be bad for your teeth.

 #5 Olive oil hand lotion
Yes, plain old olive oil. Whenever I'm working in the kitchen and my hands feel dry I just rub on a little olive oil and it works just as well. I hate using hand lotion that leaves me feeling greasy and perfumed. There are also plenty of recipes to make easy DIY olive oil moisturizer. I found a good one on Make Your Own Zone if you want to give it a try.

Hope you guys like these and leave me a comment if you try them out for yourself. I always only list hacks that I have tried myself so I can be your guinea pig first. See ya later!
